A simple way I like to think about it is the feeling you leave someone with or the feeling someone leaves with you.

There are three important parts to this:

Connection with yourself and being comfortable with yourself. This goes back to the previous three characteristics. Are you comfortable and confident with what you know, who you are, and how you like to move?

Connection with the music

Your awareness and interpretation of it. Do you allow music to inspire and guide the pleasure you have with yourself? With your partners?

Connecting with a partner

Can you apply your personal skills, style, and method of interpreting music and composition to a partner? This includes everything,

from the moves you choose, and more importantly, the moves you choose not to do

(to match your partner’s skill level and style),

as well as the dynamics and interaction you bring to your partner, your energy level, and your empathy for them.

Do you take suggestions from them?

These are important things in connecting with a partner.
